The Reliability Engineer role will provide essential technical support to the Maintenance and Reliability team, and will be a critical part of standing up a disciplined maintenance and reliability organization. The Reliability Engineer will ensure the team has the data, documentation, and parts needed to maintain the highest possible equipment uptime. This role acts as a centralized resource, with high visibility to and interaction with the operational teams, to handle the "heavy lifting" of data management and reliability support, particularly early on, allowing site-level teams to focus on plant operations. The Reliability Engineer will also be directly involved in root cause analysis (RCA) for process and equipment failures and KPI development and analysis. As the current fleet (6 operating sites, 1 under construction, more in development) and team grows, the candidate will experience strong growth and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Performance Analytics: Own the M&R KPI dashboard including, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), Preventative Maintenance (PM) Compliance. You will translate raw data into actionable insights for the Manager to optimize resource allocation.

  • Documentation & Procedure Support: Lead the development, control and storage of Preventative Maintenance (PM) instructions and Equipment documentation. You will ensure the documents are accurate, clear, and available for use by technicians across all sites.

  • Risk Management & Process Safety: Collaborate with the EHS and Operations teams to ensure all reliability strategies align with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards, specifically focusing on Mechanical Integrity (MI) for pressure vessels, piping, and relief systems

  • Turnaround & Critical Repair Oversight: Act as the technical lead during scheduled turnarounds (TAR) and unplanned outages. You will partner with Operations to develop work scopes, oversee high-stakes repairs, and perform "quality-control" inspections to ensure equipment is returned to service in a reliable state, directly minimizing Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).

  • Asset Criticality Updates: Lead FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), Life Cycle Cost Analysis, and Asset Criticality rankings, to provide data-backed recommendations for maintenance and Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects based on long-term reliability trends and total cost of ownership.

  • CMMS Maintenance: Serve as the technical owner of our CMMS. You'll ensure current data accuracy and "day-one" readiness for new plants by designing Master Asset Lists, establishing equipment hierarchies and validating equipment and maintenance data.

  • Inventory & Spares Optimization: Develop and implement critical spares strategies. You'll work with procurement and 3PL (3rd Part Logistics) to standardize and manage the spare parts inventory across all sites, ensuring high-stakes repairs never stall due to logistics.

  • RCA Assistance: Act as the technical lead for complex process and equipment failures by gathering historical maintenance records, analyzing operational trends and failure data, and documenting findings to implement permanent engineering solutions.

  • Condition Monitoring Coordination: Oversee third-party predictive maintenance (PdM) contractors (vibration, oil analysis, etc.) and ensure their reports are reviewed and turned into actionable insights for the onsite teams.

  • Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Management: Act as the strategic bridge between field execution and long-term asset strategy. You will lead the "After Action Review" process for all major events to systematically capture technical insights. You are responsible for ensuring these "lessons learned" are codified into existing processes, standards and procedures to prevent recurrence across the organization.
