Job Description: Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site (MMS) is looking for a Director, Quality Operations, VSM to join our Production Team Leadership in Mobile, AL. This position will Direct, supervise and coordinate all operational Quality lineside activities in the Single Aisle Flowlines and the completion line and in other defined areas of responsibility. Manages, motivates and develops the Quality line side teams. Responsible for ensuring the Airbus Quality Standards of the entire A/C based on the defined inspection dossier and in accordance with the POA relevant regulations. Your Challenges: Quality Assurance : 30%
Implement and secure the effectiveness of the Airbus Quality Management System by the independent quality function within the Flowline in Mobile for A320. Line 1, Line 2 and Completion Line. Verify and certify aircraft compliance through teams of trained, qualified, and independent Quality Lineside technicians. Responsible for QMS implementation and surveillance linked to Aircraft build by showing evidence of the effective compliance to the Quality Management System in front of the authorities. Support the VSM major process owners in the continuous improvement of process maturity and efficiency (produce AC and develop AC) Secure and develop the Airbus quality and safety standards in accordance with Airbus policies, national, and international authorities and laws. Ensures risks are managed and mitigated/prevented Secures a system of oversight and management of key areas Align and coordinate with the Single Aisle flowline management on Quality business. This includes stakeholder management including Operations, ME, engineering, and any other relevant departments.
Preventive Quality: 30%
Implements a system to capture and improve Quality standard of product and process; including driving down CnQ related to VSM specific topics. Measures and reports quality KPIs to support continuous improvement in all areas of the business. Captures and analyzes product quality issues and manages corrective and preventive actions implementation through QPS tools. Is the voice of the Customer within the VSM and drives, through team and MFT, a high level of customer satisfaction Faces Customer Line for feedback on reported, repetitive quality issues and strives for customer confidence on Airbus ways to contain and eradicate known quality issues Ensures quality level of all produced aircraft and continuous quality improvement to meet customer satisfaction. Reviews process and policy for opportunity to improve. Ensure AOS brick implementation and improvement for Practical Problem Solving, Non-Quality Management, Customer Protection Board, and FOD Management
Lead/Develop: 30%
Lead and develop the Quality Lineside Teams. Responsible for Cost decisions and securing Head Counts in line with operational needs and planning. Manage financial budget for A320 Quality Operations and NDT teams including Opex and Capex planning and adherence Ensure competence levels of quality department are in line with overall requirements on time, cost, and quality objectives Develop and implement a Make/Buy strategy for relevant activities, in line with the Site and Quality Function overall strategy. Follow and improve a set of key-performance-indicators (KPI) and the related reporting system. Work across the FAL's to share and engage in best practice ways of working. Ensure smooth Flowline process with sufficiently staffed/trained quality lineside and quality conformance management.

Quality system improvement initiatives and organization drives to improve. Setting of Quality and Departmental Targets, yearly and daily. Acting, and being seen to act, in accordance with Airbus Quality standards and Airbus. Produce reports showing trend and data of the performance and its output to the business. Work as part of the Quality Leadership Team to set key projects and directives for the FAL and Single-Aisle Quality Network which improve on the Business Defined Scorecards. Participate in the definition and live the Quality Ways of Working in FAL-USA. Be prepared to travel to Europe and other sites as required. Act with integrity in line with the FAL-Mobile Culture and Safe, Positive, Productive Vision. Work with the leadership team(s) on improving Culture and mind-set with regards to the A320 line.
Your Boarding Pass:
Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience in Production (Aerospace or other) Quality Departments is required. Minimum 10 years' experience in Aerospace and/or equivalent environment is required. Must have 5 Years' experience as a Manager within Quality and/or equivalent exposure. Good Knowledge about non-conformance management and Root Cause Analysis methods within Airbus. Strong and effective Practical Problem Solving skills (demonstrable). Understanding of Kaizen approach to Manufacturing. Knowledge of the Production process and build cycle. Knowledge of rules for aircraft design and manufacturing Knowledge of aircraft mechanical & electrical installation. Familiar with the American aviation market, its Airlines and Airline Representatives Ability to quickly understand procedural and technical documents. Demonstrated project management skills Strong communication skills through all levels of the organization and Functions. Ability to adapt communication at different levels Strong international communication skills Strong presentation skills. Strong negotiation skills
