Overview

Position: Director, Continuous Improvement, and Industrial Engineering, Wieland Rolled Products North America, LLC, East Alton, IL

Duties: This role has two primary responsibilities 1. Lead execution of Wieland Operating System (Continuous Improvement Strategies) for sustainable business results 2. Lead the development and implementation of advanced Industrial Engineering methods and Smart Manufacturing practices across Rolled Products in North America (BU RR). This is a highly collaborative and influencing role that requires the individual in this role to have excellent skills in Industrial Engineering methods and practices, lean manufacturing & Six Sigma principles, background in Business intelligence, Industry 4.0, Automation in manufacturing and warehouse environment, Machine learning, leadership, change management, collaboration, and communication. This role partners with the operational, process engineering, supply chain and finance leaders across BU RR. Core Accountabilities: Collaborate with operational leaders to develop a road map for Wieland Operating System (WOS), implementation and drive continuous improvement initiatives that have a significant impact on business results. Lead the implementation of the Wieland Operating System (continuous improvement strategies) roadmap across North American sites to drive sustainable business results. Lead team of senior professionals and engineers to plan and execute on implementation roadmap of Wieland Operating System and Smart Manufacturing. Be the owner and subject matter expert in Industrial Engineering methods of Operations Research, Time and Motion Studies, and Ergonomics/ Human factor engineering suitable for manufacturing processes/ equipment. Collaborate with key business function leaders like Operations, Supply Chain, Process Engineering and Finance and lead a roadmap for updating and maintaining the accuracy of master data in SAP/ WFS Systems across manufacturing sites. Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of multiple projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget. Implement project management best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Mentor and develop team members and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Working closely with group facilities located across Europe & other continents is establishing the Standard process. Lead and direct Business Intelligence & digitization efforts to develop a real-time performance monitoring system for key business matrices. Develop an integrated system for data storage, management, and integration by using advanced tools such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric. Spearhead design and deployment of Industry 4.0 (future manufacturing) initiatives such as collaborative robotics in the region to optimize operations safety and efficiency and reduce operating costs aligning to business targets. Design, develop and lead the program focusing on advanced Data Science (Machine learning, Al, loT) opportunities to automate operations, and maintenance tasks and integrate these models in production systems. Actively participate as a management team member in SAP migration from existing ERP systems. Lead MIS development through Power BI, SAC dashboard and visualization methods. Prepare the Operations team for upcoming technological modifications by building competence in the workforce and salaried staff.

Requirements: Master's degree in Industrial Engineering. Certified Lean Six Sigma black belt. 10 years of progressive experience in facilitating continuous improvement, Industrial Engineering methods to drive cultural transformations in a manufacturing environment. 5 years of combined experience of Maintenance in metal processing/Foundry environment dealing with preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance. 5 years of combined continuous improvement experience with Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work & TWI, Toyota Kota, Lean Six Sigma statistical tools. 2 years of combined Experience and Training in Industrial Engineering Methods and Practices such as Time & Motion Study, Operations Research, Ergonomics, Human Factor Engineering. 3 years of combined experience in critical computer skills like MS Office suite of products and shop floor MRP/ERP systems such as SAP, statistical analytical tools like Minitab. 5 years of experience managing, coaching, and mentoring others. 3 years of combined experience in green field project Implementation in Manufacturing, Warehouse Management Storage Automation, ASRS, Material Management Systems, Systems integration, etc. 2 years of experience with international environments & cultures across the continents. 2 years of combined experience of shop floor manufacturing technologies, manufacturing execution systems (MES) or product life cycle management (PLM) solutions. 50% domestic and international travel for training and site visits.

Salary: $180,690+
