We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Consultant with a strong construction safety background and environmental, health and safety (EHS) knowledge to serve as the primary site safety contact for external contractors. The person in this role will support construction, maintenance, and service activities within a large, complex manufacturing facility. This highly visible role is critical to ensuring contractor safety compliance, strengthening and sustaining a proactive safety culture, and mitigating risk across contractor-driven work on site.
The Senior Safety Consultant will act as a key liaison between contractors, site EHS leadership, and internal cross-functional stakeholders, providing technical guidance, oversight, and leadership to ensure work is executed safely and in compliance with regulatory, corporate, and site-specific requirements. This position plays a central role in incident prevention, contractor engagement, and continuous improvement of EHS programs within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the site safety point of contact for external contractors, primarily supporting construction-related activities
  • Drive a safe work environment through proactive and ongoing communication with contractors
  • Lead incident investigations related to injuries, property damage, permit and policy violations, and unsafe acts
  • Support contractor coordinators as a technical EHS resource, including development and review of contractor safety plans
  • Coordinate and facilitate quarterly contractor safety stand-down events
  • Serve as a liaison between contractors, site EHS leadership, and ISNetworld compliance processes
  • Guide and support contractor registration and ongoing compliance within ISNetworld
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to contractor operations, safety requirements, and compliance records
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to support site-wide EHS objectives

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in safety studies, construction management, engineering studies, or closely related field
  • 10+ years of experience in construction, construction safety management, or a closely related field
  • OSHA 500 and OSHA 510 certifications preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and related MS Office tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentations
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multi-functional team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, conflict resolution, and professional judgment
  • Ability to multitask, self-direct, and adapt priorities in a dynamic, operational environment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting contractor safety programs in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with contractor prequalification and compliance platforms (e.g., ISNetworld)
  • Familiarity with EHS management software (e.g., Enablon, Velocity EHS, Cority)
  • Background partnering closely with site leadership and EHS teams to implement safety initiatives

This is a hybrid role, offering the best of both worlds-collaborate in-office with a high-performing team and enjoy the flexibility of working remotely part of the week. We're committed to supporting work-life balance while maintaining strong team connection and project delivery.
