The Space and Intelligence Division provides professional services to the US Space Force, Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community, and NASA. The Strategic Technology Analysis Group (STAG), part of SPA's Space and Intelligence Division, offers sophisticated capabilities (people, process & tools) to resolve unique problems in space, cyber, and special operations in support to military services, Secretary of Defense offices (OSD) and theater warfighters. Our portfolio includes the Assistant Secretary of Air Force for Space Acquisition & Integration (SAF/SQ), Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC), Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO), US Space Command (USSPACECOM) and US Space Force (USSF). SPA has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer III.


Responsibilities

SPA is seeking a Systems Engineer III. The key duties associated with this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Research and archive satellite information in support of building satellite solid models (often known as CAD models).
  • Develop solid models of spacecraft to the fidelity required by the users.
  • Possess and apply knowledge of spacecraft surface material properties.
  • Work with the users to modify and adapt models for their specific needs.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field
  • 5+ years of expeirence building solid models
  • Familiar with satellite subsystems, components, missions, and overall design practices
  • Familiar with bulk and surface properties appropriate for characterizing spacecraft solid models
  • Familiar with material reflectivity measurements such as Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Functions (BRDFs)
  • Proficient with solid modeling packages such as Solidworks, NX and eSMT
  • Proficient with research and databasing of documents, images, and videos
  • Ability to report to designated work location in Albuquerque, up to full time, based on the needs of the customer
