Job Description




As a Security Officer - Community Patrol Driver in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols while remaining highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license. You will monitor assigned areas, support access control, document activity, and provide customer-focused communication, reflecting Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or property damage.
  • Monitor and control access for employees, visitors, and delivery drivers by verifying identification, following visitor management procedures, and directing traffic flow at entry points.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site management and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and observations, and communicate noteworthy activity to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21 or older.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
