As a Security Officer - Education Entry Control - Overnights in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in an educational location, you will support access control by greeting students, staff, and visitors, checking credentials, managing sign-ins, and monitoring entry points and nearby areas. You will communicate clearly, document security-related activity, and work with site teams to help reduce unwanted incidents. You will bring our agile, reliable, and innovative approach while putting people first and acting with integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Control access to the campus by verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, maintaining visitor logs, and directing guests to appropriate check-in locations.
• Monitor entry points, gates, and common areas using on-site observation and available systems, and report irregular activity per post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and coordinate with school administration and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access, with working environments and conditions varying by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
