XR LAB INFORMATION The extended reality lab is a university-wide resource designed to elevate teaching, learning, and research through immersive technologies such as XR, AR, and VR. Rooted in UW-Stout's polytechnic mission, the lab empowers students, faculty, and industry partners to explore, create, and innovate with cutting-edge tools that transform instructional experiences. Its goals include supporting multidisciplinary immersive learning, driving faculty collaboration and innovation, expanding student skill development, fostering community and industry engagement, and enabling globally connected, boundaryless education-ultimately serving as a launchpad for inclusive, future-ready learning environments. The lab is scheduled to open in Fall 2026 with an anticipated start date for this position mid-April of 2026. We are seeking an innovator and leader in immersive technology. PURPOSE The lab coordinator designs, develops, and enhances instructional activities and programs within the XR Lab, applying learning theory and instructional design models to support innovative teaching and learning. Manages day-to-day lab operations to ensure accessibility for students and faculty, and coordinates with instructional design, library, Office of Corporate Relations and Economic Engagement (OCREE), and other academic units to foster cross-campus collaboration and effective use of lab resources. Reports to the Director of Multimodal Instructional Support; housed in Library. Programs sponsored by the NTLC's goals, mission and vision statements are closely aligned with the mission of the Nakatani Endowment Fund and the University's visioning statements and Enduring Goals.
