Your Opportunity + Impact The Associate Technical Specialist collaborates closely with field and design technical teams, contributing to all stages and disciplines of design projects. This role is responsible for ensuring the technical accuracy and quality of assigned work and must have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the tasks they oversee. The Associate Technical Specialist also supports project teams in developing scopes and fees for small to moderate single-discipline projects or for specific disciplines within multi-discipline projects. Key Responsibilities
- Independently performs planning and design tasks, reviews work of others, prepares construction documents, and ensures successful project delivery.
- Maintains collaborative, cross-functional relationships with project team members and other departments.
- Self-checks all work for accuracy before submission to supervisors or design teams.
- Conducts initial QA/QC reviews of project submissions to ensure quality and compliance.
- Develops project schedules, technical proposals, and labor hour estimates.
- Collaborates with project teams to define and deliver scope of work effectively.
- Promotes and implements quality assurance and quality control processes to enhance deliverables and reduce design errors and omissions.
- Performs and verifies design calculations, prepares technical specifications, and develops cost estimates.
- Develops and maintains budgets for complex design scopes.
- Supports business development efforts through proposals, scoping, and project planning.
Education and Experience
- Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in a Technical discipline preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years' job-related experience.
- Licensure/Certification: n/a
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the field.
- FamiliarRevit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation/InRoads, and/or Hydrologic and Hydraulic Software Packages to be used for Site Layout, Grading, Utility, and Storm Water Management Plan design and/or other discipline-specific programs preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
