POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinate print production of monthly print and digital publications, working with Sales, Publisher, Editor, Art Director, and the printer. This includes mapping the publication, trafficking ad materials, and releasing files to the printer, with a primary focus on correct ad insertions and satisfactory reproduction of advertising units.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Prioritize tasks in fast-paced 12-day production cycle to ensure on-time mailing of multiple publications monthly
  • Create variable folio imposition based on requirements of ad/edit ratio, advertisers, publisher, and manufacturing using principles of printing efficiency and economy
  • Traffic and store all ad files ensuring materials meet technical specifications; trouble-shoot "problem ads" with ad agency personnel
  • Provide ad specifications, file upload instructions, and deadlines to agencies and printers
  • Create final pdfs and upload full-page ads to printer
  • Traffic receipt of client supplied supplements, covertips, and inserts
  • Manage production (scheduling through printing and distribution) of publication related supplements, covertips, and inserts
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Minimum 2-4 years magazine/publication print production experience, preferably with multiple publications simultaneously
  • Advanced knowledge of 4-color web offset printing and electronic pre-press
  • Proficiency with InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Excel, and Word
  • Process and detail oriented
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment
  • Possess strong organizational and communication skills
