Salary Range: **$150,000 to $200,000 per year

** Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

Overview:

WOOD is seeking an Enterprise Configuration Manager to support enterprise IT environments by strengthening configuration management discipline, audit readiness, and operational consistency. This role supports the development, review, and execution of Configuration Management plans, provides guidance to technical teams, and ensures alignment with federal compliance requirements such as FISMA.

As enterprise environments evolve, this role also contributes to the modernization of configuration management practices by leveraging tools, automation, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities to improve visibility, accuracy, and efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong CM fundamentals with a coaching mindset and an interest in improving how configuration management is performed at scale.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.



Responsibilities

    Support the development, maintenance, and review of Configuration Management plans, policies, and procedures

  • Ensure configuration management practices align with federal requirements, including FISMA and agency security controls

  • Support audit preparation and execution, including CM-related documentation, evidence collection, and responses to findings

  • Provide configuration management guidance and coaching to technical teams, system owners, and stakeholders

  • Participate in change control activities, configuration reviews, and baseline management

  • Support configuration tracking, reporting, and compliance using enterprise tools and systems

  • Assist with configuration management training and knowledge sharing across the organization

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to ensure CM practices support system security and reliability

  • Identify opportunities to improve CM processes through automation, tooling, and AI-enabled capabilities

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that modernize configuration management across the enterprise



Qualifications

Required Education & Years of Experience

  • A High School Diploma or GED plus nineteen (19) years of relevant experience.
    OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university AND a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience.
    OR
  • A Master's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university AND a minimum of thirteen (13) years of relevant experience.

Required Skills

  • Experience supporting configuration management in an enterprise IT environment
  • Familiarity with federal IT compliance frameworks, including FISMA

  • Experience reviewing or supporting Configuration Management plans and documentation

  • Understanding of change control, baselines, and configuration tracking concepts

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal audits or assessments

  • Familiarity with configuration management tools, CMDB platforms, or IT service management systems

  • Experience delivering training or coaching on CM practices

  • Exposure to automation, scripting, or AI-enabled tools that support configuration or compliance activities

  • Certifications related to configuration management, IT service management, or cybersecurity

  • Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments
