Responsibilities

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11-17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home.

The facility is looking for a Housekeeper who will be responsible for daily housekeeping routines while ensuring a safe and risk preventive environment. Under general direction, the housekeepers routinely clean patient rooms, nursing units, offices, lobby, waiting areas and restrooms. Using various cleaning chemicals and disinfectants, housekeepers wipe equipment, clean furniture, clean floors and vacuum carpets. They make beds, empty trash and restock cleaning supplies. Housekeepers take a daily inventory as well as inspect their equipment for any repairs or replacements and demonstrate the ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.

Schedule:

  • 6:00am - 2:30pm
  • Off every other Thursday
  • Required to work every other weekend

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year in healthcare environment preferred.
  • Previous experience as a housekeeper in a medical facility preferred.
  • Previous experience in a mental health facility preferred.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, stoop and climb for periods up to eight (8) hours.
  • Must be able to operate mechanical equipment used in the laundry and housekeeping department. Must be able to read, write and follow instructions.
