We are seeking an experienced Benefit Verification Specialist to join our growing team based in Minneapolis, MN. Role Overview This role supports patients and physician offices by verifying insurance benefits, securing prior authorizations, and ensuring coverage for IU procedures. The specialist will act as an advocate for patients, communicating with insurance carriers, clinical staff, and internal teams to facilitate smooth access to care. Key Responsibilities * Serve as an advocate for patients regarding insurance coverage and access * Contact insurance carriers to obtain benefit details, policy limits, and prior authorization requirements * Secure authorizations, precertifications, and required documentation for IU products and procedures * Request medical documentation to support medical necessity * Educate patients and providers on coverage guidelines, requirements, and trends * Verify completion of prior authorizations and update customers and internal teams * Communicate reimbursement and access information clearly to offices and patients * Assist with coverage exceptions and appeals when needed * Handle inbound calls from patients regarding insurance verification * Perform additional duties as assigned Required Skills & Experience * 3+ years of medical insurance verification experience * Strong knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid * Experience with prior authorizations, claims processing, and benefits verification * Excellent communication, customer service, and problemsolving skills * Ability to work with clinical staff, insurance carriers, and patients professionally * High school diploma required * Healthcare industry experience preferred Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
