*Desktop Support Specialist (100% Onsite - Dulles, VA)* *Full-Time | 7AM-4PM or 8AM-5PM | Expert-Level IT Support*
A wellestablished, nationally recognized organization is seeking an *experienced Desktop Support Specialist *to provide onsite support for a local office while also assisting remote users across multiple locations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fastpaced environment, enjoys variety, and excels when working independently as the onsite face of IT. *Key Responsibilities* * Provide *Level 1 & Level 2 technical support* to both local and remote employees * Support users via walk-up, phone, chat, and email * Troubleshoot a wide range of issues within a *Microsoft 365 cloud environment* * *Document incidents in the ticketing system and escalate when needed* * *Act as the primary onsite technical resource for all desktop-related issues* * *Train users on hardware, software, and best practices* * *Create and maintain process documentation during downtime* *Top Technical Skills (Highlighted)* * *M365 / Office 365 Suite* - Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint * *Windows 11* support * *Intune* device management * *Entra ID / Azure AD* * *Remote troubleshooting & remote support tools* * *Defender for Endpoint / endpoint security* * *DNS, DHCP, IP, and connectivity troubleshooting* * *ITIL fundamentals* (Incident, Change, Asset Lifecycle) *Technical Environment* * Lenovo laptop environment with Windows 11 * Thirdparty vendor handles imaging and hardware deployment * Ticket mix: ~70% email/self-service and ~30% walk-up * Support channels: ~70% remote / 30% in-person * Volume includes supporting a large nationwide user base *A Typical Day* * Begin by reviewing email, messages, and the ticket queue * Prioritize urgent requests and walk the office floor for visibility * Address walk-up support needs (PC setup, application issues, printer mapping, performance issues, password resets, VDI troubleshooting, etc.) * Collaborate with other IT team members across locations to resolve escalations * Maintain professionalism and clear communication with staff at all levels *Qualifications* * Strong experience resolving Level 1-2 issues in a Microsoft cloud environment * Solid troubleshooting skills, both onsite and remote * Ability to diagnose connectivity and networking issues (DNS, DHCP, IP conflicts) * Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Strong attention to detail and adherence to established processes * Proven initiative in identifying gaps and improving user support *Experience Level* *Expert-Level Desktop Support / IT Support Specialist* *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Sterling, VA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
