Summary:

The Public Health Analyst will assist with multiple human capital disciplines, including workforce planning, program, and administrative support, communication, and partnerships. This role will assist the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with massive hiring surges due to reorganizations and transitioning COVID-19 emergency response functions to routine operations.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Use a variety of analytical techniques and methods to conduct independent and interdependent analysis for human resources evaluations and/or special studies.
  • Implement the analysis by collecting and evaluating information, identifying existing or potential problems or trends, formulating alternatives, and providing recommendations.
  • Review, research, prepare, and coordinate documentation such as correspondence, summaries, and JR packages for division leadership.
  • Utilize advanced techniques, data collection, and analytical tools in the development of solutions for human capital evaluations.
  • Assist with data collection tools, report templates, and data display techniques for division-wide use in support of human capital.
  • Listen and respond to program needs to create and consolidate multiple documents and spreadsheets and tailor products to the needs of each program.
  • Assist with customer service requests mechanisms and internal tracking, assist with developing enhancements and refinements to these systems and processes.
  • Assist in the development of and maintain a variety of tracking tools and spreadsheets using basic and advanced functions of a variety of types of software.
  • Track correspondence responses to information requests requiring leadership attention to ensure timely responses or actions and assuring deadlines are met consistent with management policies.
  • Manage logistical support for various meetings and activities critical to business operations.
  • Participate and provide support in meetings, presentations, and briefings with internal and external organizations.
  • Establishes and maintains required SOPs as needed. Provide general project support services or administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of the interrelationship with other internal and external programs and activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of laws, policies, and regulations that govern assigned, substantive programs.
  • Use discretion and judgment to ensure assignments and general business operations are compliant with policies and consistent with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Serve as point of contact for leadership and facilitates responses to inquiries concerning general policies and procedures related to program operations and support services.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently, be solution-oriented, motivated, and committed to customer and company success.
  • Ability to handle a variety of constituencies, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex environment while balancing multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent decision-making and analytical skills; business intuition, and business acumen.
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of specialized experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Individuals with an active CDC badge are highly preferred.
