| Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for the department of Neurosurgery at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the post-doctoral researcher will be responsible for the design, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of experiments regarding the study of the pathophysiology of epilepsy or seizure disorders using murine models and human patients. The applicant should have strong background in neuroscience and/or cell biology, biomedical engineering or computer science. The applicant should be able to perform small animal surgeries, molecular, cellular and electrophysiological experiments. In addition, the postdoctoral researcher will supervise residents, junior research assistants, graduate students and student workers in the laboratory. The postdoctoral is expected to brings expertise to the research team; is responsible for the scientific operations of the laboratory; and submits grant applications to obtain independent research funding.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Performs in vivo animal experiments using mice, performing small craniotomies for injection of chemical and viral vectors, and for implantation of multiple stimulation and recording electrodes.
- Design, execute, and analyze research studies using intracranial EEG (ECoG, SEEG) data from animals and humans.
- Perform advanced signal processing and time-frequency analyses of neural recordings.
- Integrate iEEG data with neuroimaging (MRI, CT, fMRI), behavioral, and clinical datasets.
- Develop and implement computational pipelines using MATLAB, Python, or similar platforms For legacy UMDNJ Positions.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of one (1) year of experience with high throughput biomedical or neuroscience research laboratory is required.
- Candidates in All But Degree status will also be considered.
- Demonstrated experience with electrophysiology data analysis (human or animal).
- Experience in graphing, statistical analysis and data management skills.
