As a Relationship Teller, you will play a key role in supporting Bank goals for both sales and exceptional customer service by consistently delivering a high-quality experience through a blend of technology and personal interaction. This role is central to our Next Generation Branch model, which emphasizes High Tech/High Touch service delivery. Under the direction of the Branch Manager or designated supervisor, you will be responsible for accurately conducting financial transactions, actively identifying sales opportunities, and cross-selling Rockland Trust products and services. You will champion digital banking solutions and support mobile enablement while maintaining a strong commitment to professionalism, productivity, and ongoing product knowledge. This role requires a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with customers, managing the lobby experience, and initiating meaningful conversations that uncover both consumer and business financial needs. Relationship Tellers are ambassadors for the Rockland Trust brand-focused on building trust, deepening relationships, and encouraging customers to experience the full value of banking with us Position Responsibilities: * Develops a thorough understanding of bank products and services to effectively meet customer needs. * Greets customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, engaging them in conversation to identify their financial goals and needs. * Promotes and educates customers on new products and services, actively participates in sales promotions, and generates qualified leads for platform staff and business partners. * Utilizes strong problem-solving skills to provide effective solutions and ensure a positive customer experience. * Maintains a professional demeanor and organized workspace while fostering strong working relationships with fellow team members. * Adheres to all security, compliance, and regulatory policies and procedures. * Accurately and efficiently processes a variety of banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments and check cashing, in accordance with bank guidelines and authority levels. * Performs daily cash balancing and reconciliation, including the operation of Cash Recyclers and the management of branch cash inventories such as coins and foreign currency. * Handles general bank and account inquiries from customers through phone and in-person interactions. * Assists customers in using branch technology and digital banking tools. * Demonstrates professionalism, adheres to dress code standards, treats others with respect, and conducts all business interactions with integrity. * Completes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Sales and Service: * Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell products and services, supporting the achievement of customer service standards and branch sales goals. * Proactively build new customer relationships while deepening and strengthening existing ones through personalized service and follow-up. * Promote bank products, services, and marketing initiatives by aligning customer needs with appropriate solutions and delivering tailored recommendations. Operations and Compliance: * Efficiently process customer transactions and respond promptly to inquiries regarding products and services, ensuring accuracy and quality in every interaction. * Maintain full compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, as well as Rockland Trust's internal policies and procedures. Required Skills: * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to customers and colleagues. * Customer-focused and service-driven, with a friendly, empathetic, and solutions-oriented mindset. * Demonstrates professionalism and a positive attitude in all customer and team interactions. * Delivers exceptional customer service by identifying individual needs and recommending appropriate banking products and services. * Highly detail-oriented, ensuring accurate transaction processing to minimize errors and reduce financial risk. * Skilled in cash handling with a strong emphasis on accuracy, while actively promoting and cross-selling banking products. * Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to operate a variety of devices, including iPads and smartphones. * Comfortable with continuous customer interaction and maintaining a strong presence in a customer-facing role. * Ability to assess customer needs effectively and provide tailored product or service recommendations. Continued employment is dependent upon successful completion of Teller Training, which includes an exam. Working Demands: * Requires extended periods of standing and frequent, direct interaction with customers in a busy branch environment. * Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including weekends, and a six-day work week, based on customer and business needs. * Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
