Job Summary The Data Center QA/QC Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality, compliance, and consistency of low voltage installations within data center and colocation environments. This role provides daily on-site quality oversight, conducts detailed inspections, validates testing and documentation, and works closely with project managers, site leadership, technicians, general contractors, and clients. The QA/QC Manager proactively identifies deficiencies, supports corrective actions, and helps prevent rework by reinforcing installation standards, industry codes, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle. Job Responsibilities

Conduct daily on-site quality inspections of low voltage installations, including fiber, copper, pathways, racks, and cable tray systems.

Verify all work complies with internal standards, client specifications, construction documents, and applicable industry codes.

Inspect installation methods, workmanship, labeling, dressing, routing, and terminations for quality and consistency.

Review and validate testing results, including copper and fiber certification, OTDR results, and related documentation.

Maintain and update QA/QC logs, punch lists, deficiency reports, and inspection records.

Identify quality issues early and work directly with field leadership to ensure timely corrective actions are completed.

Provide technical guidance and standards clarification to technicians and field supervisors.

Coordinate with project managers, site leadership, general contractors, and clients to align on quality expectations and milestones.

Participate in client walkthroughs, quality meetings, and progress reviews as required.

Monitor compliance with safety requirements and site-specific rules while performing inspections.

Support project planning by forecasting upcoming QA/QC needs, schedule impacts, and quality-related risks.

Prepare and submit daily and periodic QA/QC reports to the project management team.
Job Requirements

Several years of hands-on experience in low voltage installation, including fiber optics, copper cabling, pathways, racks, and cable tray systems.

Strong working knowledge of industry standards, including BICSI, TIA/EIA, NEC, and data center-specific requirements.

Proven experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and installation standards.

Proficiency using testing equipment such as Fluke DSX testers, OTDRs, fiber scopes, power meters, and continuity testers.

Demonstrated experience conducting quality inspections, managing punch lists, and driving corrective action processes.

Experience working in active data centers, colocation facilities, or other mission-critical environments.

Ability to coach and support technicians on proper installation techniques and workmanship standards.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with project teams, site leadership, general contractors, and clients.

Proven ability to identify deficiencies early and prevent rework through proactive field engagement.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Technical training, certifications, or continuing education related to low voltage systems or data center infrastructure preferred.
Work Experience

Prior experience in a QA/QC, lead technician, field supervisor, or similar quality-focused role within data center or mission-critical construction environments is preferred.
