Job Summary
The Data Center Technician IV is an expert-level technical role responsible for ensuring the operational integrity, reliability, and regulatory compliance of critical data center infrastructure. This position requires deep expertise across electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, and communications infrastructure systems. The technician operates with a high degree of independence during assigned shifts, responds to incidents and alarms, performs advanced maintenance and troubleshooting, and ensures all work aligns with established operational, safety, and compliance standards. Job Responsibilities
Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot critical electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, and communications infrastructure systems within the data center.
Operate and support electrical distribution systems, including transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, STS, ATS, and PDUs.
Support mechanical systems including chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, and related cooling infrastructure.
Perform inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on pre-action sprinkler and fire life safety systems.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and work requests using a ticketing system, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
Execute and support change management activities in accordance with approved procedures.
Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements at all times.
Participate in detailed shift handoffs to maintain continuity of operations across teams.
Identify risks, escalate issues appropriately, and recommend improvements to operational processes.
Job Requirements
Expert-level knowledge of data center electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, and communications infrastructure systems.
Hands-on experience with electrical distribution and layout, transformers, PLCs, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, STS, ATS, and PDUs.
Strong working knowledge of chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, and supporting cooling infrastructure.
Experience supporting pre-action sprinkler systems and fire life safety equipment.
Proficiency with ticketing systems, documentation standards, and change management processes.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in active mechanical and electrical environments.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical education, certifications, or formal training in electrical, mechanical, or facilities engineering disciplines are preferred.
Work Experience
Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in data center operations, critical facilities, or a comparable mission-critical environment.
Demonstrated experience operating at a senior or expert technical level is required.

Schedule: Night Shift, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Workdays: Tuesday through Saturday
Position requires consistent on-site attendance and availability during assigned overnight shifts to support continuous operations
