osition Summary

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization for patients visiting the facility for routine care or important health-related decisions. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while adhering to established procedures and safety standards.

The PSR I interacts directly with patients, creating an environment of trust and professionalism by clearly explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner. The role requires a strong commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and process excellence.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform daily work activities accurately and on time under the direction of the Area Supervisor



  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment



  • Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures



  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following standard protocols



  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation



  • Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public



  • Exhibit leadership behaviors while ensuring patient confidentiality and data accuracy




Job Requirements


  • Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment



  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision



  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections



  • Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime




Education Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)



  • Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic training) preferred



  • Phlebotomy certification preferred




    • Certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington






Work Experience


  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)



  • 1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred



  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred



  • Keyboarding and data entry experience required
