Position Summary

Oceaneering is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant, Digital Solutions to join our Integrity Management and Digital Solutions segment. In this consultative role, you will focus on leveraging our digital products and services to solve complex customer challenges in the energy, offshore, and industrial sectors. The Principal Consultant will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, translating their operational needs into tailored solution designs and ensuring those solutions are successfully delivered. This position emphasizes product and solution design leadership over traditional broad sales activities. The Digital Solutions portfolio includes data collection applications, communication services, and managed network services designed for harsh and remote offshore environments. The ideal candidate has experience in digital consulting or solutions architecture (e.g., IoT, data analytics, cloud services) within industries like Oil & Gas, Energy, Renewables, Processing, or Chemicals. They possess a strong ability to understand customer needs and drive the creation of high-value solutions that deliver tangible business outcomes.


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Engage with clients to identify operational challenges and gather detailed requirements.
  • Translate client needs into tailored digital solution concepts and high-level designs.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine and align solution designs.
  • Provide structured feedback to product teams on feature enhancements and gaps.
  • Support and coordinate proof-of-concept (PoC) and pilot deployments for solution validation.
  • Partner with sales teams to develop technically sound and client-aligned proposals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders across functions.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the digital solutions portfolio through client-driven insights.
  • Conduct market research and share competitive and technology trend insights internally.
  • Represent Oceaneering at industry events to promote solutions and gather feedback.
  • Coordinate with implementation teams to ensure smooth solution delivery and alignment.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop solution collateral and case studies.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on engagement progress and solution development.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and solution activities in CRM.
  • Analyze client feedback and usage data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate internal workshops to align cross-functional teams on solution strategy.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align client needs with product roadmaps.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for potential integration into the digital solutions portfolio.
  • Develop business cases to support investment in new product features or services.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators related to solution adoption and client impact.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and client-specific technical requirements.
  • Support internal training initiatives by sharing client insights and solution success stories.
  • Lead internal reviews of solution performance and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure alignment on expectations and deliverables.

Qualifications

REQUIRED :

  • 5+ years of experience in digital solutions consulting, solutions architecture, or technical business development, preferably in Oil & Gas, Energy, Renewables, or Industrial sectors.
  • Expertise in relevant digital technologies and domains: data aggregation and management, IoT sensors, cloud services, communications networks (satellite, wireless) for remote operations, and digital transformation strategies in an industrial context.
  • Knowledge of competitor offerings and industry best practices in digital asset integrity, remote monitoring, and industrial automation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Able to convey complex technical concepts in a clear, client-friendly manner and negotiate solution approaches with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Domestic travel 25%, international travel less than 10% of time.

PREFERRED :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or equivalent technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering digital solutions or managing complex technology projects for enterprise customers. This may include leading successful pilots, implementations, or large-scale digital initiatives that resulted in measurable improvements for the client.
  • Strong ability to translate business problems into technical requirements and solution designs. Experience gathering client requirements and developing solution proposals is essential.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
