Specialist, Trade Compliance
Job Description: The Role: Our site in Chaska MN, or Billerica, MA has a long term contract role for a Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team The Trade Compliance Specialist will be responsible for a broad range of export compliance activities, including but not limited to: AES filings, export licensing, auditing, and recordkeeping. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners-including freight forwarders and government agencies, to ensure compliant and efficient export operations. What You'll Do:
- Manage Global Trade Services (GTS) compliance activities, including releasing blocked documents and resolving issues in collaboration with Customer Service, Product Management, and Shipping teams.
- Conduct customer and destination screening against denied party lists and embargoed country regulations.
- Prepare and submit Electronic Export Information (EEI) filings through the Automated Export System (AES) for applicable export shipments in accordance with regulatory timelines.
- Support the issuance, administration, and tracking of export licenses, including monitoring license usage and expiration dates.
- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Agile Point compliance workflows.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of ECCN, HTS, and countryoforigin data within SAP, GTS, and other corporate systems.
- Maintain, and adhere to standard operating procedures to ensure ongoing trade compliance.
- Ensure all export activities comply with applicable regulations, including OFAC, EAR, ITAR, DEA, FDA, and other relevant export control requirements.
- Perform additional trade compliance and exportrelated duties as assigned.
What We Seek:
- 3-5 years of progressive export trade compliance experience within a global manufacturing environment.
- Preferred experience with SAP GTS or other global trade compliance and screening software platforms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of commodity classification, including ECCN and HTS assignments, and related regulatory requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of Export Administration Regulations (EAR); familiarity with other export control regimes is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and compliance integrity.
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and meet critical deadlines in a fastpaced environment
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in export trade compliance.
- Export Compliance Professional (ECoP).
- In-depth knowledge of EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and CBP regulations.
