Accounts Payable Associate (New Accounting Graduates Welcome)

Location: Rockville, MD

Starting Salary: $60,000

Type: Full-Time

The Finance Department consists of approximately 70 staff members, with a dedicated Accounts Payable team of five. This opening is due to an upcoming retirement, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage Accounts Payable email inbox

• Work with vendors to ensure compliance and resolve issues

• Audit invoices for accuracy and proper approvals

• Prepare journal entries and maintain receipts

• Process in-house expense reports

• Process background checks

• Prepare quarterly reconciliations for AP and AR exchanges

• Learn and navigate multiple accounting software systems efficiently

Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (new graduates encouraged to apply)

• Ability to learn new software quickly

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Good communication skills when working with vendors and internal teams
