West Vancouver Materials Recovery Center (West Van), a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a highly motivated & safety driven,ForkliftOperator,to work at ourTransfer StationinVancouver, WA.

Pay range is$27-$29/HR DOE

Schedule isMonday - Friday

Shift is12:30 PM to 9:00 PMwith some overtime as needed.

Safety Sensitive:Yes

Qualified candidates must haveForklift operating experience.

  • REQUIRESability to efficiently & safely operateForklift.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate forklift or other equipment as needed.

  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.

  • Completes daily reports on pre and post trip inspections of equipment.

  • Yard and facility maintenance including debris and clean up.

  • Spotting Trucks.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • Specific duties can change on the daily basis as operation needs change.

  • Working outside in all weather conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.

  • Ability to perform a physically demanding job at times with no helpers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to adhere to company policies and rules that are set forth promotes the company's safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.

  • Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise

  • Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforcesafety procedures.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Basic knowledge of computer skills.

  • Pre-employment requirements for this safety sensitive position includedrug panel screening &criminal background check.
