KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Business Tax Services - Employee Benefits Compliance to join our Business Tax Services practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret financial and participant data of Form 5500 filers, including both employee benefit plans and direct filing entities
  • Prepare, review, and electronically file Form 5500s, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal tax laws and regulations, including ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code, to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Gather, review, and reconcile plan data and documentation, coordinating with auditors during the annual plan audit process for specific types of employee benefit plans
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and audit teams, providing clear communication and guidance to ensure timely review and filing of forms in accordance with statutory deadlines
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:
  • Minimum two years of recent, relevant experience in employee benefit plan compliance, tax or audit
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; active pursuit of CPA license or EA certification preferred
  • Solid understanding of ERISA and IRS regulations related to employee benefit plans
  • Skills include exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills and proficiency with tax preparation software are critical for success in this role
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Alteryx Designer to build, modify, and run workflows is desired

California Salary Range: $96800 - $187500
