Platform Hardware Competitive Analysis Engineer

Role Overview:
Analyze and reverse-engineer CPU/APU/GPU PCBs to understand architecture, cost, and performance, and provide insights for competitive platform design.

Key Responsibilities:
Revese-engineer notebook, motherboard, and GPU PCBs to analyze topology, power trees, and key interfaces.
Estimate BOM costs by identifying components and comparing competitor and internal designs.
Analyze PCB stack-ups, high-speed interfaces, vias, and trace geometries to infer competitor chip ball-outs.
Perform power instrumentation to measure system efficiency and ASIC rail power.
Deliver cost and design analysis reports with recommendations for future platforms.

Qualifications:
BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
3-5 years in platform hardware design or analysis.
Strong knowledge of high-speed interfaces (LPDDR/GDDR, PCIe, USB, DP/eDP, HDMI, SPI/eSPI).
Experience with complex PCB/system assemblies and BOM cost optimization.
Background in competitive benchmarking and power/efficiency analysis preferred.
