Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Pipefitter for newconstruction projects. The ideal candidate will be skilled in layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems in commercial buildings, working from blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams on active construction sites.

Essential Duties

  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and construction plans.
  • Measure, cut, thread, grind, and fit pipe using hand and power tools.
  • Install piping systems, valves, fittings, and supports according to project specifications.
  • Perform layout and fabrication of pipe runs in newbuild commercial environments.
  • Prepare materials and ensure correct pipe dimensions prior to installation.
  • Work with copper, carbon steel, stainless, PVC, CPVC, and other materials as required.
  • Test piping systems, including hydrostatic testing and leak checks.
  • Collaborate with welders, foremen, plumbers, and general trades on site.
  • Follow all safety procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA and sitespecific standards.
  • Operate lifts, rigging, and materialhandling equipment safely (if certified).
  • Maintain organized work areas and assist with jobsite cleanup.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of pipefitting experience; commercial newconstruction experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with pipe threading, grooving, soldering, brazing, and torch work.
  • Knowledge of commercial mechanical systems (HVAC piping, hydronic, chilled water, domestic water, and gas piping).
  • Familiarity with testing procedures (air, water, pressure).
  • Strong math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.
  • Valid driver's license; additional certifications (OSHA 10/30, equipment operation) are a plus.
