Job Description
JOB OBJECTIVE: As part of the IT Global Support Services team, the IT Service Desk Intern will provide technical support to Promega employees worldwide. This role involves supporting business software applications, handling hardware and software installations, and contributing to maintaining efficient IT operations across the organization. 1. Receive and respond to initial user inquiries via phone, email, instant messaging, and in-person requests for assistance. 2. Create tickets, provide initial troubleshooting, and thoroughly document troubleshooting steps. 3. Setup hardware and software, including configuration and training of supported systems. Recognize and escalate more complex issues to the next level of support. 4. Assist in desktop imaging and maintaining image and inventory management (asset management). 5. Create and maintain knowledge base documentation for Promega systems. 6. Handle tasks with proper communication and within the allotted timeframe under immediate to minimal supervision. 7. Assist users in maximizing the use of networks and computing systems. 8. Maintain confidentiality regarding information processed, stored, or accessed by end-users on the network. 9. Embracing and being open to incorporating Promega's 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work. 11. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. 1. Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year degree program in an information technology-related discipline. 2. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. 3. Excellent problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 4. Ability to communicate in a friendly and effective manner with both non-technical and technical individuals. 5. Ability to maintain patience, a customer-friendly attitude, and work effectively in a team environment. 6. Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment. 7. Demonstrated proficiency in digital tools and technology, including Microsoft applications and mobile platforms, with the ability to adapt and leverage emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to improve efficiency, automation, and collaboration. 2.
