The ITS EIT/Designer will be part of our Advanced Technology for Surface Transportation business class, supporting the emerging areas of ITS, Lighting, Signalization, and Tolls design, for a diverse range of clients.
In the role of ITS EIT/Designer, we'll count on you to:
- Work as part of a traffic team under the direction of the Project Engineer/Manager on a variety of traffic forecasting, analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation projects
- Conduct operational traffic analysis using a variety of modeling tools, ranging from highway capacity software to complex micro simulation models; analyze everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway segments
- Focus on traffic design, including accident analysis and mitigation strategies, signing, striping, traffic signals, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS), including real-time traffic information, adaptive signal control, closed circuit television (CCTV), and variable message signs (VMS)
- Conduct traffic design using CAD platforms including MicroStation, autoCad and Guide Sign software
- Conduct operational analysis using a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties, including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM and Aimsun
- Conduct safety analysis using a variety of safety software tools including Highway Safety Software
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or other related Engineering field -
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate -
Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression -
Experience in industry and agency standards -
Working knowledge in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software

- Strong verbal and written skills
- Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once
