What You'll Do

As the Payroll Specialist, you will process Bi-weekly payroll for both U.S. and Canada. You will be part of a dynamic team who provides support in all areas of payroll. Other duties will include:

  • Remit tax payments and assist with tax filings
  • Managing and processing of union payments
  • Process on demand payments
  • Assist with reconciliation questions and researching of payroll GL accounts
  • Communicate via phone, email or in writing with employees, benefits specialist, human resources, managers, banks, credit merchants and state or federal agencies
  • Prepare and assist with running and distributingmonthly reports
  • Review and understand all company policies with respect to those polices that may govern the assigned payroll responsibilities
  • Perform planning primarily around individual workload in order to meet deadlines for department and business objectives

What We're Looking For:

  • 2+years payroll processing experience
  • Associates degree in accounting preferred
  • Experience with SAP is desired
  • Working knowledge of laws / regulations governing payroll, benefits and payroll taxes is preferred.
  • Previous payroll experience in a large(2000+) complex organization preferred.
  • The Payroll Specialist must be able to multitask and have a high level of expertise in Excel and advanced computer knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to use positive communication to work effectively with multiple individuals within the organization.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
