Job Summary
TheDVP, Supply Chain Planningis a critical leadership role within our Global Supply Chain team. In this role, you will have responsibility for Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and performance globally across all business units and regions. This role requires strong change management and leadership skills to strengthen planning capabilities that directly contribute to the company's ability to consistently achieve superior operational/financial results and provide differentiated service to our customers. The core functions of the position include: facilitate strategic and tactical decision-making to balance demand and supply that support the revenue, EBITDA and cash flow plans for each business; develop a global standard S&OP process that enables financial/operational results predictability; provide technology-enabled planning insights that drive forecast accuracy and optimize supply allocation; and facilitate agile planning that improves responsiveness to customer demand changes. This role is responsible for leading the implementation and execution of industry best practices and overall maturity evolution of our S&OP processes and planning solutions (including alignment of S&OP with the company's plans to transition to IBP and a single, global instance of SAP S/4 HANA), in collaboration with business teams and enabling functions. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the Supply Chain planning organization responsible for demand & supply planning, inventory management, and scheduling functions. Establishes S&OP planning processes and ensures that staff are properly trained and in place
- Creates a roadmap to mature our S&OP processes and practices via standardization and simplification that enables us to achieve targeted efficiency/effectiveness gains
- Strengthen our S&OP governance, including implementation of standard metrics/KPIs, creation of monthly and ad hoc results reporting, and reduction of forecast bias
- Enable planning-related changes across the company by forming internal alliances, developing the vision for Supply Chain planning, prioritizing initiatives, facilitating work team performance
- Provides external insights on supply chain planning innovations and lead implementation of industry best practices for S&OP
- Establish analytics capabilities to conduct rough-cut capacity and scenario planning that facilitates decision-making and optimizes planning outcomes
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
- Identify significant business risks and escalate mitigation actions to the appropriate leadership teams
- Evaluate inventory reports to identify slow-moving and obsolete inventories and collaborate with the sales team to develop/execute disposition plans
- Achieve customer service order fulfillment objectives and OTIF targets while maintaining inventory levels at targeted goals
- Prepare data and material for monthly S&OP meetings that will facilitate decisions around equipment, labor and all other resources needed to support demand over the S&OP planning horizon
- Engage the business and region planning teams, Sales, Finance, Commercial Operations to assure Supply Chain Planning is aligned with companywide and business-specific objectives
- Assess supply chain planning capability gaps and prioritize development initiatives in the 3-year strategic planning process
- Develop/implement an inventory optimization strategy that balances multiple commercial objectives (revenue growth, fulfillment service level, cash flow)
- Develop, monitor, and revise production and sourcing plans, in the short and long term, to optimize the use of manpower, equipment and financial resources while meeting the needs of customers
- Assess S&OP models to proactively identify/mitigate risks, improve responsiveness to changing customer demand and capture potential revenue growth opportunities
- Develop support metrics, tools and reporting that will enable Supply Chain and Sales teams to achieve service level and inventory targets
Education and Experience Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics. Graduate degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance or equivalent preferred
- 15+ years' experience, with at least 7 years leading a team, with experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Inventory Planning in an environment of both manufactured and sourced finished goods highly preferred
- Prior work experience in a CPG environment with demonstrated knowledge of planning high volume, global product lines (production and NPI planning)
- Experience with planning oversight at a company with multiple business units, each with $1B+ in annual revenue and complex SKU portfolios
- People management experience including strong interpersonal and leadership skills: skill-sharing and training, organization, conflict management, relationship management
- Experience with demand planning, supply planning and forecasting in state-of-the-art S&OP, ERP and IBP solutions, SAP preferred
- Experience leading large scale, enterprise-wide transformation projects that significantly improved forecast accuracy, inventory turns/cash flow and customer fulfillment performance
- Supply Chain-related leadership experience in multiple operating models (decentralized, center-led and/or centralized)
