Job Summary

We are seeking a Geotechnical Seismic Modeling Engineer to develop and analyze 1D/2D seismic models that support subsurface interpretation, hazard assessment, and engineering decisions. In this role, you'll run seismic simulations, interpret complex geophysical data, and collaborate with cross disciplinary teams to provide clear, actionable insights. Ideal candidates bring strong analytical skills, experience with seismic modeling tools, and the ability to communicate technical findings effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform geotechnical seismic hazards analyses, 1D and 2D site-response, and soil-structure-interaction evaluations for projects utilizing FLAC, PLAXIS, and other geotechnical modeling software for analysis and design.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to validate structural assumptions and address emergent issues.
  • Develop and execute geotechnical numerical models with a focus on seismic analyses and soil-structure interaction including but not limited to:

- Collect and analyze geotechnical data (borings, CPTs, lab data, etc.),

- Perform model calibration including element- and system-level evaluations,

- Develop model space and boundary conditions,

- Perform model response and diagnostic evaluations,

- Post-processing and presentation of model results, and

- Translation of model response to actionable geotechnical design recommendations.

  • Perform geotechnical engineering analyses, studies, and calculations, and prepare reports.
  • Review technical reports and calculations prepared by entry-level engineers.
  • Support business development and marketing activities, including preparation of cost proposals and presentations to existing and prospective clients.
