| Position Summary |
This Business Manager position will be based out of the Warnell Fiscal-Admin Office, and will oversee aspects of several hiring and payroll functions for primarily faculty and postdoc employment groups. They will also be responsible for submission and approval of GL journals, AP JVs, payment requests, position funding changes, EDRs, and ad hoc requests. The Business Manager will work in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Finance & Operations, Grants Manager, and other positions to ensure accurate account management and balancing. This position will be highly involved in annual budget planning, summer school payroll and budget journal submissions. This position is a professional position expected to perform assigned duties, responsibilities, and tasks with a high degree of independence and exceptional proficiency.

Hiring and Payroll Management:
- Work closely with the faculty affairs liaison to process all position, posting, and hiring proposals for all faculty and part-time instructors, and submit Post Docs and Retire Rehires positions via UGAjobs. Maintain email correspondence and other documentation related to hiring requests.
- Process and oversee payroll transaction entries including position funding changes, express direct retros, ad hoc salary changes, terminations via One USG Connect.
- Work closely with the Grants specialist to track and manage faculty cost share distribution for grants and personnel effort close to project end dates.
- Maintain faculty FTE distributions as communicated by the Dean and the Financial Director.
- Process faculty supplements, First Year Odyssey and Grad First payments.
- Run regular reports and queries to ensure accuracy of payroll actuals, including position funding queries, payroll expense detail reports, and internal Warnell payroll spreadsheets.

Budget Planning and Financials Management:
- Proactively work with faculty and staff to collect and enter position funding information in the budget system during budget development.
- Keep track of all full-time faculty and staff positions funding arrangements throughout the year.
- Track payroll budget and payroll transactions on all study abroad and field study programs for accuracy.
- Enter Budget Journals to keep DSS, and various accounts budgets up to date.
- Enter and approve General Ledger journals, Accounts Payable journal vouchers, or payment requests as needed.
- Act as a purchase card (Pcard) Approver 2 for multiple Pcard holders in Warnell.
