Job Summary

The per diem data analysis will provide research oversight and analytic support to Dr. Alexis Roth and the Health Equity Advancement Lab (HEAL) at Drexel University. This position will primarily work on a large randomized controlled trial testing the efficacy of a behavioral intervention to prevent HIV among women who inject drugs. The data analysis and management role will assist with conducting analyses and authoring publications. Survey and qualitative research experience is required and experience with mixed-methods research and/or psychometrics is desirable

This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.

Essential Functions



  • Design and conduct data analyses
  • Contribute to publishing scholarly papers and conference abstracts as lead or co-author
  • Develop community-facing research products to share key findings
  • Work with project manager to ensure data quality for ongoing studies
  • Help develop reports that describe study progress for stakeholders, funders, and data safety monitoring board.
  • Attend regular meetings with the study team and the principal investigator.


Required Qualifications



  • Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Public Health
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
  • Commitment to the HEAL lab's core values.
  • Experience conducting quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods data analysis
  • Proficiency in SAS and/or Stata
  • Experience analyzing survey data
  • Demonstrated expertise related to two or more of the following: women's sexual health; substance use; intersectionality; mental health; HIV; measurement and psychometrics; community-based participatory research
  • Possess excellent oral, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Experience applying anti-racist and equity, diversity, and inclusion frameworks to research processes

Additional Information

This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
