SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Manager of Shared Services that will lead Core Finance's project portfolio, including Payroll, AP, AR, T&E, & Labor Costing, along with crossfunctional initiatives to design, implement, and sustain scalable processes, controls, training, and KPI reporting that enhance accuracy, timeliness, and the overall experience for our teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the threeyear Core Finance Operations strategy, ensuring priorities and initiatives are clearly documented, and deliver quarterly updates to leadership and the team on progress, accomplishments, and upcoming objectives.

  • Partner with Finance process owners and crossfunctional teams to identify pain points, gaps, and interdependencies; design and implement futurestate solutions that drive efficiency and automation.

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement through KPI and metric development, monitoring, and reporting; leverage data insights to optimize processes and strengthen accountability.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation and enablement tools, including detailed process maps, roles and responsibilities matrices, internal training materials, and gap analysis reports to ensure clarity, consistency, and adoption across Core Finance Operations.

  • Lead changemanagement strategies, including communications and training, to drive adoption of new processes and systems; collaborate with Learning & Development, Finance Training, and other teams to deliver effective enablement.

  • Build and sustain strong relationships across diverse teams and organizational levels; foster collaboration and alignment to achieve project objectives.

  • Model leadership excellence by providing coaching, feedback, and performance management to project contributors; maintain a culture of accountability, inclusion, and engagement.

  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 7-10+ years in Finance Operations or Shared Services, with at least 5 years leading complex, cross-functional projects.

  • Professional certifications (PMP, Lean Six Sigma) and experience with finance systems (Oracle, UKG, and Concur) preferred.

  • Deep understanding of Core Finance Operations and related systems such as Oracle, UKG, and Concur.

  • Strong project management expertise, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) and ability to develop process maps, ownership/accountability charts, and training materials.

  • Advanced analytical skills to interpret data, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement through actionable insights.

  • Exceptional communication and change management skills to craft clear updates, lead training, and influence adoption across diverse teams.

  • Strategic thinking and leadership ability to define and execute a multi-year roadmap, align priorities, and present progress to senior leadership.

  • Collaborative mindset with proven ability to build relationships and foster alignment across organizational levels and functions.

The base pay range for this role is $129,000 - $Max193,600. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
