Overview

ENERCON's Data Center Mission Critical Group is seeking a 3D Designer Lead/BIM Coordinator to join the team based in one of our various office locations across the U.S. Join our dynamic engineering team as an experienced designer/drafter and elevate your career by creating and refining detailed drawings, conducting site walkdowns, collaborating closely with engineers, and leading the design group. You'll utilize advanced tools like REVIT, adhere to strict quality and safety standards, and mentor team members, all while working on diverse and exciting projects. Responsibilities

As a 3D Designer Lead/BIM Coordinator, your day is a dynamic blend of creative problem-solving and technical precision, where you bring designs to life using AutoCAD, REVIT, and cutting-edge BIM tools. Collaborating with engineers and leading team members, you ensure every project runs smoothly, from detailed drafting to site walkdowns, all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

  • CAD / BIM Modeling & Drawing Production: Setup, maintain, and modify detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and REVIT. Prepare design drawings, including layout and detail drawings, piping isometrics, single line drawings, P&ID, pipe and conduit support drawings. Detail physical design of piping and conduit supports based on schematics and typical details; any steel detailing experience is desired. Experienced with 3D space and building information management (BIM). Can create and modify REVIT families (both annotation symbols and design elements) and incorporate them into design. Understand AutoCAD national standards

  • REVIT Project Setup, Standards & Optimization: Establish structured work sets, view templates, phasing, and project browser organization in REVIT. Streamline modeling procedures using software plugins such as DiRoots or CTC Suites. Assist in developing BIM Execution Plans

  • Model Coordination, Review & Troubleshooting: Can perform internal reviews and clash detection of designs using BIM360, NAVISWORK or REVIT. Can troubleshoot model discrepancies, including but not limited to: visibility issues in model space for 3D components, coordination with linked models across the disciplines, copy/monitor elevation levels and gridlines, coordinate issues for model alignment between disciplines, project parameters not populating correctly for tags/sheets. Conduct self-checks of created drawings, sketches, and related data to proactively identify factors that may negatively affect final product. Display high attention to details; can perform peer checks for other designers

  • Collaboration, Communication & Leadership: Has ability to communicate internally with engineers and designers and is very organized. Work directly with Engineering and other designers for design concept interpretation. May review the work of other designers/drafters and provide mentoring and leadership

  • Field Work, Compliance & Professional Responsibility: Perform walkdowns at client sites and generate walkdown reports. Understand and follow all organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies, and directives. Meet applied time goals set for position/discipline #LI-MB1


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field with a minimum of 3 years of 3D design engineering experience
    • OR Associates Degree in related field with minimum 6 years of design engineering experience
    • OR minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Proficient with both 2D and 3D design software, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Revit is required; Inventor and Bluebeam recommended
  • Experienced with 3D space and building information management (BIM) required
  • Working knowledge of basic engineering techniques, principals, standards, and concepts for assigned engineering discipline; competent in the basic concepts of other disciplines as they relate to theassigned discipline
  • Leadership experience working with a team of engineers/designers and coordinating projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design
  • Ability to travel between 10-15% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs

When salary range is listed it reflects typical compensation for this role based on level and location. Actual pay depends on experience, skills, and education.
