Position Responsibilities

Deltek is seeking a seasoned Director, Lead-to-Order Solution Architect to own the end-to-end architecture, scalability, and delivery excellence of our commercial systems across the entire customer lifecycle-from marketing lead capture through quoting, contracting, order management, renewals; with handoffs to billing, revenue recognition, provisioning, and services.

You'll be the architectural heart of our Salesforce ecosystem, setting standards and roadmaps, managing engineers and admins, partnering with business stakeholders, and driving disciplined Agile Scrum execution as an advisor. We need someone who thinks creatively, is pragmatic in the face of complexity, has hands-on experience with GenAI-enabled tooling, and can lead global technical teams to deliver high-quality, secure, compliant, and performant solutions.

While you will manage a technical team, this is a player-coach role that also requires you to stay hands-on as an individual contributor solution architect.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture Ownership & Roadmap

  • Own end-to-end L2O solution design, including Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, ARM/CLM, Partner portals), with clear interfaces to other sales systems, marketing automation, ERP/billing, rev rec, data/analytics, and identity.
  • Architect and design solutions that are aligned to business measures: funnel conversion, time-to-quote, order accuracy, renewal rate, and ARR growth.
  • Establish non-functional standards (security, performance, availability, observability, cost optimization).
  • Identify opportunities to standardize, simplify, and optimize solutions

Delivery, Governance & Quality

  • Serve as an advisor to Scrum team members, providing architectural guidance, best practices, and technical coaching during backlog refinement, Sprint planning, and design discussions.
  • Support Product Owners and Scrum Masters by clarifying dependencies, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, and helping teams make informed trade-offs.
  • Participate in design reviews and offer recommendations to maintain architectural integrity while empowering teams to own delivery.
  • Promote DevSecOps maturity (source control, CI/CD, environment strategy, test automation) and change-management discipline.

Global Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor distributed technical resources (onshore/offshore); set objectives, elevate skills, and ensure predictable delivery.
  • Create a collaborative culture across time zones with strong documentation and proactive stakeholder communication.

GenAI Enablement

  • Evaluate and safely adopt GenAI tools to improve delivery velocity and quality.
  • Define governance for data security and privacy, model selection, and value measurement.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Collaborate with Sales Ops, Finance, Marketing, Customer Success, and Legal to understand objectives, processes and pain points, and to translate business requirements into robust, scalable system solutions.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on process and technology standardization (quote-to-cash, renewals, discounting, approvals, entitlements).
  • Communicate technical tradeoffs and recommendations in business-friendly language

Risk, Compliance & Security

  • Ensure privacy, data residency, and compliance controls (SOX, GDPR/CCPA as applicable).
  • Partner with InfoSec for identity, SSO, role design, audit trails, and API security.

Qualifications

  • 8-12+ years in enterprise applications with 5+ years architecting Salesforce-centric L2O solutions (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ/ARM, CLM, Data360, Agentforce experience).
  • Strong Agile Scrum advisory experience; comfortable guiding multi-team programs with clear Sprint goals and Definition of Done.
  • Proven experience managing global technical teams (partners and internal staff); setting standards and coaching engineers/admins.
  • Hands-on knowledge of integration platforms (Workato or similar), REST/SOAP APIs, eventing, middleware patterns, and observability.
  • Experience with GenAI applied to software delivery with governance and security implications (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude).
  • ERP/billing/revenue recognition integration experience a plus.
  • Data modeling and reporting/analytics enablement (Snowflake, Power BI) and MDM practices a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to translate complex designs into clear narratives for technical and business audiences.
