Marvell Packaging Substrate team is a place where you can brainstorm, excel, innovate, transform for the expansion of AI-driven cloud data centers for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. As the substrate engineer, you will have the opportunity to work closely with world class substrate suppliers to execute and deliver cutting edge products. You will bring your expertise in optimizing ABF substrate design/manufacturing/process for solutions and will be responsible for bringing up advanced ABF substrate materials and technologies to support cutting edge package solutions in all product portfolios.

What You Can Expect

  • Mange and bring up on NPIs into ramping and production.

  • Bring up suppliers for NPI substrate technology including IPD embedded core substrate, MLC, and next-gen substrate materials.

  • Interface with Marvell substrate pathfinding and technology teams for advanced substrate technology development pass down.

  • Maintain substrate roadmap to align suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Coordinate supplier interlock for substrate technology and NPIs alignment.

  • Conduct substrate design review and tape-out with substate layout team and suppliers.

  • Execute substrate cycle time, delivery commitment, substrate qualification & reliability tests.

  • Benchmark, evaluate, develop, implement new substrate materials into NPIs for HVM ramping to support advanced node cutting edge silicon products.

  • Be an expert to troubleshoot and support substrate issues on NPIs/HVM and new advanced technology.

  • Interface substrate suppliers and material suppliers to optimize manufacturing/process and control reliability & quality for NPIs and HVM products.

  • Execute substrate cycle time, delivery commitment, substrate qualification & reliability tests.

  • Provide substrate milestones for NPIs into HVM products.

  • Manage substrate suppliers and OSAT substrate team for spec alignment such as substrate parameters & criteria, substrate tray design and selection.

  • Work closely with functional teams including NPIs, Quality, Assembly, Test, and BU's.

  • Work with QA and OSAT/substrate suppliers to resolve package related
    quality/reliability issues.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: BS/MS/PHD in STEM/Material Science/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.

  • Experience: ABF substate design/manufacturing/process is a must

  • BS +7 years of experience

    MS +5 years of experience

    PhD +3 years of experience

  • Hands-on expertise and deep knowledge of ABF substrate manufacturing/process is a must.

  • Must have FCBGA substrate NPI or technology development experience.

  • CoWoS substrate development experience is preferred.

  • Strong problem solving, analytical, interpersonal skills are a must.

  • Good understanding of advanced technologies including very large body size, embedding, and glass core substrate.

  • Knowledge of substrate cost structure and yield management.

  • Basic Cadence APD and AutoCAD skills

  • Good communication skills that are essential to work well with internal cross
    functional teams and suppliers.

  • Good program and supplier management skills is a must

  • Familiar with raw material suppliers is preferred.

  • People management experience is a plus.

  • Must be self-discipline, flexible, agile, and result driven.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

118,820 - 178,000, $ per annum

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
