Water Survival Training Dive Master Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland (JBSA-L) TX Applied Training Solutions, LLC (ATS) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Water Survival Training Dive Master to support U.S. Air Force survival training operations at Fairchild Air Force Base. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in military diving and water survival, delivering water survival supervision, safety oversight, and hands-on support for Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) and military diver training programs. You will manage dive locker operations, maintain and certify diving and high-pressure air systems, oversee SCUBA and SERE Safety Diver qualification programs, and support open-water continuation training. Your expertise will ensure safe, compliant, and effective execution of water survival and dive operations in support of mission-ready Airmen. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct Dive supervisor training
- Maintain dive locker and equipment
- Support military divers
- Support continuation training open water dives
- Manage SERE Safety Diver Qualification Upgrade Program, and SCUBA qualification program.
Experience & Qualifications:
- DoD certified Diver First Class / qualified and operated as a Naval Enlisted Classification (NEC) M1DV Diver First Class (Legacy NEC
- Code 5342) as outlined in NAVPERS 18068F Vol II or cross-service suitable substitutes who meet qualifications from NAVPERS 18068F Vol II
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Operational Diver First Class
- Thorough familiarity with recognition and treatment of diving emergencies as outlined in the US Navy Diving Manual
- Current lifeguard qualified or ability to become qualified before the time of hire
- Capable of swimming in turbulent waters
- 3 years' experience and knowledge of US Navy re-compression chamber operations
- 3 years' experience in certification and maintenance of high-pressure air systems
- 3 years' experience in employment the US Navy Dive/Jump Reporting System, U.S. Navy Planned Maintenance System, and the 3M system
- 3 years' experience in reading blueprints and schematic drawings, understand specifications and interpret illustrated parts breakdowns and other publications used in the field of Dive-Locker/Maritime equipment and dive related specialization
- Knowledgeable of USAF and MAJCOM regulatory guidelines and instructions
- Proof of US Citizenship required.

Work is conducted in open-water, pool, and dive training facilities and may involve exposure to variable weather conditions, cold water, strong currents, and physically demanding scenarios. The role requires frequent swimming, diving, lifting, and handling of dive equipment, as well as extended periods in and around water. Duties are performed in close coordination with military personnel in a structured, safety-focused training environment, with strict adherence to U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and DoD safety standards and operational procedures.
