Job Description

Sr. Collections Coordinator - Memphis, TN, On-Call

Pay range: $20.19+ per hour; employee may be eligible to receive shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Additional details on shift differential will be provided if an offer is extended.

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

On-call employees are eligible for:



  • 401(k) pre-tax and/or Roth IRA with company match up to 5% after 12 months of service



This position requires an in-depth knowledge of the billing operation. Responsible for problem resolution of a less then routine nature and handling of more complex billing issues which are typically multi functional and affecting a large volume of carriers/clients. Clients are often both internal as well as external. May also be responsible for preparing non-standard letters or protocols. May also assist in training.



Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities

* Edit procedure to ensure proper information for billing.

* Follow-up on patient/insurance claims for patient, insurance, and government payors.

* Customer service - handles more complex phone calls received. Helps with outgoing calls to

patients, insurance carriers and clients when difficult situations arise.

* Research and process denials.

* Cash application of monies received.

* Coordination of Explanation of Benefits (EOB's) from insurance carriers.

* Billing of co-pays, deductibles, some secondary insurances.

* Helps with data retrieval and questions during audits.

* Help with problem solving with system issues. Work with IT department to maintain standard

procedures for billing.

* Assist in training of employees.



Qualifications:

Required Work Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in a specific function
  • Minimum 12 months of PC experience
  • 1+ years of Insurance experience.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • This position may require long periods of sitting

Knowledge:

  • Knowledgeable on concepts that involve billing, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance, and AccountsReceivables

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required

Some College Courses: Preferred
