*IT Supply Chain Buyer - Job Description* *Overview* The IT Supply Chain Buyer is responsible for negotiating with designated suppliers in alignment with organizational policies and standards. This role ensures that the company achieves optimal contractual outcomes while delivering strong internal stakeholder satisfaction. The ideal candidate understands industry best practices, emerging trends, and competitive vendor landscapes within IT software and related categories. They will also support the development of robust Category Strategies that meet evolving business needs.
*Key Responsibilities* * Drive timely sourcing of critical software initiatives, ensuring compliance with cost, quality, and regulatory requirements. * Align sourcing strategies across business units to maximize enterprise-level leverage and efficiency. * Lead sourcing activities, including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract finalization. * Build strong cross-functional partnerships with internal departments to align on category vision, cost-saving opportunities, and long-term strategy. * Support supply base optimization and strategic initiatives through effective use of enterprise-wide spend. * Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiencies, cost reductions, and enhanced sourcing practices through continuous market intelligence. * Serve as a progressive, forward-thinking leader who brings innovative approaches to procurement and vendor management. *Required Skills & Qualifications* * Strong negotiation skills and solid understanding of contract structures. * Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent sourcing projects, balancing competing priorities and timelines. * Demonstrated success leading negotiation strategies for complex software or IT-related contracts, with measurable cost savings or improved terms. * Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration and supplier management. * Ability to analyze data, develop insights, and present clear recommendations to stakeholders at all organizational levels. * Software proficiency: * *Ariba* (essential) * *Microsoft Excel* (including Pivot Tables) * *Microsoft PowerPoint* * Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of providing leadership and mentorship to colleagues. * Strong customer-service orientation with a proactive, "can-do" mindset. * Ability to develop effective relationships with global and cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, IT, Strategy, PMO, Finance, Legal). *Additional Preferred Skills* * Strong understanding of Information Technology procurement, including both hardware and software categories. * Familiarity with indirect procurement categories and sourcing methodologies. * Experience with end-to-end sourcing processes and related tools such as *Power Apps*, *Ariba SLP*, *S2C*, and *P2P* platforms. *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract position based out of Dearborn, MI. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
