Linens Attendant

Job Description

Collects soiled linen, and delivers linens to patient areas when necessary.

Job Responsibility

• Assists in soiled linen collection, laundering, and distribution; collects soiled linen from chutes and brings to soiled area.
• Checks chutes on a regular basis to prevent soiled linen back-up.
• Inspects linen for stains and tears; routes for rejected linen.
• Delivers adequate supplies of linen to proper floor units when necessary.
• Performs rough dry processing; sets correct drying time.
• Promptly informs the Supervisor of equipment failure.
• Checks for complete dryness of article before removal.
• Operates steamer for taking out wrinkles of wash and wear articles such as lab coats, jackets, and pants.
• Supplies uniform requests on an exchange basis and ensures that employee signature is obtained.

Job Qualification

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  
  1-3 years of relevant experience, preferred.
