Description

This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Hours will vary as needed. Located at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines in La Jolla but may travel to other sites as needed.

What you'll do:

  • About 80% of this position is working on computer messages and phone calls, while only about 20% is hands on/in-person patient care (mostly IV placement).
  • Work hand in hand with the Echo department placing IVs for contrasts.
  • Perform phone triage, giving procedure instructions and educating patients pre and post procedure while documenting patient interaction in Epic.
  • Ensure Scripps patients and their families have an exceptional health care experience.
  • Practice infection control and contribute to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care within your own scope of practice.
  • Patient care includes compliance with patient assessments and care tasks, triaging, completion of clinical procedures, emergency protocols and medication administration.
  • Works collaboratively with the other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • ADN or Nursing Diploma CA RN license
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association ACLS

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • BSN
  • 1+ years of RN experience
  • Cardiology experience
  • IV placement experience
