About the Role

As a pivotal member of our client's team, you will be instrumental in defining the user experience for a suite of powerful e-commerce tools. You'll be at the forefront of design, translating complex business needs into elegant, user-centric solutions. This role offers the chance to lead design initiatives, collaborate with diverse teams, and see your creations come to life, directly influencing the operational efficiency and success of businesses worldwide.

Key Responsibilities



  • Rapidly and thoroughly develop process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups to conceptualize and communicate intricate interaction behaviors.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define business and feature requirements, leveraging empirical online data, usability findings, market research, and established user-centered design principles.
  • Evaluate and enhance the performance of both new and existing features by actively participating in usability testing and interpreting analytics data.
  • Present design work to cross-functional teams and leadership for comprehensive review and feedback.
  • Contribute to the evolution of user interface design and development best practices and standards.
  • Provide visionary leadership in the areas of e-commerce trends, web application design, and user interface innovations.


Must-Have Qualifications



  • 7+ years of industry experience delivering interaction design solutions for web and/or software applications.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, coupled with strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
  • Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver.
  • An unfailing passion and capacity to advocate on behalf of users, ensuring their needs are at the core of every design decision.
  • A strong online portfolio showcasing past work experience and relevant, user-centered design solutions is required.


Nice-to-Have Qualifications



  • Exceptional communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills, including the ability to clearly and persuasively articulate complex, interactive design concepts across different audiences and organizational levels.
  • A self-starter mentality, customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and an enthusiastic team player.
  • The ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment, working effectively with highly technical teams and managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, or Flash is highly desired.
