YOU

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of facility equipment and systems, managing relationships with contractors and vendors, and providing administrative support. This position will work Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, with some overtime.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

Manage repair and maintenance of facility equipment and systems, which includes scheduling outside contractors to perform work, and overseeing custodial contractors. (35%)

Perform scheduled preventative and repair maintenance on plant facilities to keep them operating efficiently, and to keep the physical condition of the building and grounds from deteriorating. Will include troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing parts on equipment as needed. May include overseeing security systems, controlling HVAC Systems software, working with fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, computer room UPS backup systems, and generators. Repair and assemble office furniture as needed. Upgrade facilities by painting, repairing walls, and installing monitors/TV's for the facility. (35%)

Work on special projects as necessary, this includes all safety improvement projects. (20%)

Update and track all work completed in Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) (5%)

Communicate with building personnel and ensure work is performed satisfactorily. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • High school diploma required.
  • A.A. degree or equivalent from two-year technical school preferred.
  • 3 years' minimum experience proven in fast-paced, high volume and high demand working environment where prioritization was required.
  • Safety: Ability to consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating a safe work practices by promoting a safe work environment.
  • Safety: understand and support OSHA rules and requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Speak in the most effective way to relay information. Listen and ask questions to ensure understanding. Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, effective listening skills, and communicate clearly with team members, management.
  • Self-management skills: Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work independently: Follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Quality standards knowledge: Demonstrate an understanding of quality standards and quality control processes.
  • Prints: work from blueprints, electrical and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Computer skills: operate various computer programs for part stocking and ordering, time keeping, and support Technician Work Order processing.
  • Language: able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies, or members of the business.
  • Reasoning: able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Able to work with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Able to work with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Equipment and tools: Able to operate a forklift (Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification will certify at hire). Demonstrate knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance. Able to read a tape measure to within 1/32" as well as read a micrometer, caliper and use pin gauges to check part quality.
  • Computer: Able to operate a computer, CMMS systems and basic applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work overtime: Able to work overtime as dictated by business demand.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment and needs to constantly position self to maintain the operation of equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level is loud. The job may risk exposure to dust, heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires less than 5% domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Gallatin, TN.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$25.29 - $40.48 / hour
