Summary:

The Clinical Dietitian is an entry-level registered dietitian. This role provides evidence-based nutrition care to patients and families across inpatient and/or outpatient settings. The Clinical Dietitian develops, implements, and monitors individualized medical nutrition therapy plans to support patient growth, healing, and quality of life. This role applies technical knowledge and skills depending on the severity and complexity of the case. The Clinical Dietitian collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, families, and caregivers to ensure optimal nutritional outcomes on routine matters, provides patient and caregiver education, and contributes to evidenced-based practice initiatives.

Education:

  • Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field required.

  • Meets the current RD/RDN entry standards.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:

  • RD/RDN (Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) credential issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration required.

  • Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Texas required.

  • CPR certification required.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30am to 5:00pm

  • The position will be in the weekend coverage rotation.

Grandfather Clause: Effective January 1, 2024, all newly hired Registered Dietitians must meet the national requirement of holding a master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field to be eligible for credentialing and employment.

Employees hired or credentialed as Registered Dietitians prior to January 1, 2024 are grandfathered under the previous bachelor's degree requirement and remain eligible to continued employment in this role with active registration and state licensure in good standing.
