Main Line Health's Lankenau Heart Institute (LHI), located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, is seeking a Cardiovascular ICU Physician to join our expanding cardiac surgery and critical care team. This position supports a highvolume, nationally recognized cardiothoracic surgical program and provides care in our 16bed Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU), offering advanced care for the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery patients.

Our CTICU manages patients undergoing complex and minimally invasive valve repair, coronary bypass, aortic surgery, robotic cardiac surgery, and transcatheter interventions, in addition to supporting an active mechanical circulatory support program (ECMO and VAD).

Summary of Responsibilities:

Clinical Care

  • Provide highacuity care for postoperative cardiothoracic surgery patients in a multidisciplinary ICU setting.
  • Demonstrate excellent clinical judgment in managing complex cardiac surgical cases.
  • Provide 24/7 coverage within a collaborative team of surgeons, PAs, NPs, and critical care nurses.
  • Manage patients requiring advanced mechanical circulatory support (ECMO, VAD).
  • Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with operating cardiac surgeons to ensure continuity of care and optimal outcomes.
  • Foster effective teamwork and communication across the surgical and critical care teams.
  • Education & Training

  • Participate in teaching, training, and educational activities for students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers.
  • Qualifications:

  • Board Certified/Eligible in Critical Care.
  • Active Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility.
  • Strong clinical background in cardiothoracic critical care.
  • Commitment to education, teamwork, and patientcentered care.
