Join the heart of campus life at the University of Arizona Student Unions, where culinary creativity meets community. We're seeking passionate Dining Services Supervisor to bring their skills to our dynamic team.

Your Role:

This position supervises our Starbucks Cafe. While maintaining a flexible work schedule, the incumbent supervises the work of Dining Services Attendants, Cashiers and/or Student employee and assists in interviewing, selecting, disciplining, counseling, coaching, and evaluating employees within University policy framework. This position enforces and trains on Starbucks and Student Unions policies, demonstrates knowledge, cost, and food items, food service equipment, and supplies and utilizes food cost and menu production knowledge for ordering and receiving. This position oversees the proper use of food, supplies, and human resources to meet budgetary guidelines. Instruct, implement, and monitor all aspects of safe, sanitary, and service-oriented food preparation. Reports to Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintains and adheres to all Starbucks policy and procedure standards.
  • Hires, trains staff and coordinates their work schedules.
  • Communicates oral and written instructions to assigned staff.
  • Maintains excellent customer service by planning, developing and implementing new ideas.
  • Leads and monitors effective customer service practices within the unit.
  • Monitors the work of assigned staff and notify the appropriate management personnel of the need for corrective action.
  • Notifies the appropriate personnel of process and/or quality problems, including, but not limited to, customer complaints.
  • Completes required records and reports, including, but not limited to, those addressing inventory control and personnel.
  • Receives, distributes, follows, and enforces departmental register procedures.
  • Ensures the maintenance, orders and receives materials and supplies via the Culinary Services procurement and distribution system.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret instructions and perform basic arithmetic calculations, typically acquired through the completion of a high school education or equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge in scheduling and customer relations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally, lifts, transports or moves a maximum of 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Three years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and days.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years in a high-volume cafe.
