Part Time Health & Safety Specialist

EnSafe is accepting applications for part timeHealth & Safety (H&S) Specialistto work part-time in our Hartford, CT office. (20-40 hours per week) Benefits included.

As an H/S Specialist, you will work on a wide range of projects in an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration at all levels, a culture of support, and professional growth. EnSafe emphasizes empowering staff to practice our profession passionately and without limitations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES In this position, you will:

  • Providing consulting advice to industrial and commercial companies from the aerospace, chemical process, manufacturing, pulp & paper, and/or automotive industries, among others
  • Conducting quantitative industrial hygiene exposure assessments
  • Performing onsite air sampling, developing qualitative industrial hygiene assessments
  • Performing indoor air quality assessments
  • Executing local exhaust ventilation surveys and conducting safety risk assessments in the areas of thermal illness, radiation, and more
  • Recommending engineering and administrative controls
  • Performing machine guarding, lockout-tagout, and confined space assessments
  • Developing written health and safety plans and programs for various OSHA compliance standards
  • Providing health and safety support to all levels of management
  • Managing projects and developing business with current and new clients
  • Traveling is expected at 75%, supporting local and national clients

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in environmental health, safety, or related discipline, or 1-2 years of related safety/industrial hygiene experience
  • Experience with instruction or training employee groups
  • This position requires initiative, attention to detail, analytical thinking, accountability, and commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Ability to pass a background check for access toon-sitework locations
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Professional certifications, such as CIH and CSP, are encouraged to be pursued
