Join Our Team as a Patient Collections Specialist!

We are currently seeking a dynamic Patients Collections Specialist to join our vibrant team.

The Patient Collections Specialist is responsible for communicating with patients regarding their outstanding healthcare balance(s), resolutions of billing questions and concerns, and reducing accounts receivable delinquency.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service regarding collection issues.
  • Contact patients via mail, phone or electronic methods to request payment, review account details, and set up a payment plan, if necessary.
  • Assist with billing processes, including reviewing patient information and preparing itemized statements.
  • Utilize knowledge of payor portals, clearing houses, explanation of benefits
    (EOB's), and other tools to successfully complete Accounts Receivable tasks.
  • Document in detail problem/action/and follow up with patients and insurance companies until claims are
    fully adjudicated.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts, including accurate records of all contacts, payments and account updates while adhering to HIPPA privacy and security regulations.
  • Adress patient questions, resolving billing disputes, and manage third-party payer issues to ensure reimbursement.
  • Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required. College degree is preferred.

Experience:
3-5 years' experience in high volume collections experience.

Accounts Receivable knowledge/experience preferred.

Knowledge:
Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies from insurance payers and patients.

Technical Skills:
Ability to use various EHR and clearinghouse systems, as well as other tools available to collect payments and resolve accounts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.

Team Player:
Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.

Organizational Skills:
Strong organizational, communication, and written skills.

2-3 years of Patient Collections Experience required.
100% Remote position.
Prefer candidates in Minnesota and/or the Central Standard Time Zone.
